Energy Efficient Lighting SIG
Private Group active 9 months, 4 weeks ago agoThe Energy Efficient Lighting Special Interest Group (EEL SIG) provides a forum for members in this industry. The group provides a platform to inform its members on recent developments in the industry, addressing best practice and tackling barriers to uptake. The group’s main aim is to stimulate the adoption of EEL technology in the market place by working closely with both suppliers and also end users.
The group was established in 2010 after a study had found solid state lighting (SSL) to be a very attractive high growth market that UK companies could benefit from. In spite of this however, several market failures were identified including a lack of customer understanding of the technology and the presence of poor quality products in the market place that were damaging the industry.
Envirolink acts as secretariat for the group and hosts quarterly meetings as a way to canvas opinions from its members for lobbying activities. These aim to represent the member’s interests.
